Features Console Vault's Triple Guard Lock System:

console safe for Dodge Ram

Console Vault has recently made the greatest design improvement since the product was first developed. Our new Triple Guard Lock System incorporates a latch design similar to the pins used in the doors of bank vaults, an overall improvement that greatly increases security.

The design also includes a front channel that incorporates the lid into the body of the vault itself, ultimately eliminating stress from the physical lock.

Interior: 10" L x 12.5" W x 3" H

"Made of 12 gauge steel". To be clear, this vault is not actually a vault, it's a lid, which is conveniently not mentioned anywhere in the advertising. So while the lid may be made of 12 gauge steel, the other five sides of the vault are plastic, the plastic that comprises the center console. Hardly a vault, and hardly worth the premium price.

Marginally secure, not fully enclosed in steel!
As another reviewer had said, this is not a vault it is a lockable steel lid to the space below the tilt up console cover. It utilizes the flip up plastic divider as security from the front, at the bottom of the console. It does however give the illusion of security if you are not a determined thief. My last vault was fully steel and very secure, this is a deterrent only if not knowledgeable on this specific design. I am not the fan I once was.

I was surprised it was not a fully enclosed vault. However having said that it does the job as intended for now. My major concern is the front separator plastic flap that serves as part of the container. Too easy to punch thru. I would recommend to at least design a metal front area to the lock box.

Better than expected
First my complaint. Ram's design of their console leaves a lot to be desired. Very limited in the amount of space that can be converted to locking storage.. That said Console Vault did an excellent job in utilized every bit of possible space and still allowing factory function of the console. I have had Console Vaults in the past. Quality was always top notch. Seems as if they have actually stepped up material and build quality on current offerings.
